The Police Service Commission (PSC), in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), has officially opened applications for the recruitment of 50,000 police constables nationwide. The initiative comes as part of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive to strengthen community policing, boost security across the country, and expand the manpower of the Nigeria Police Force.
According to a statement released by the PSC, the recruitment portal will officially open Monday, December 15, 2025, and close on Sunday, January 25, 2026. The Commission emphasized that the entire recruitment process will be transparent, merit-based, and free from corruption. Applicants are warned to avoid fraudulent agents, as no fees will be charged at any stage of the process.
Eligibility and Requirements
Applicants must meet strict qualifications depending on the cadre they are applying for:
General Duty Constables
- Must have GCE O-Level, SSCE, NECO, or equivalent certificates with at least five credits, including English Language and Mathematics.
- Age range: 18–25 years
- Height: Minimum 1.67m for males and 1.64m for females
- Must be Nigerian citizens by birth
- Medically, physically, and psychologically fit
Specialists Constables
- Minimum of four credits, including English and Mathematics
- Age range: 18–28 years
- At least three years’ experience in the relevant field
- Must pass relevant trade tests and meet additional PSC requirements

All applications must be submitted online only through the official PSC portal: www.npfapplication.psc.gov.ng. The PSC stressed that applicants should ensure their details are accurate and complete, as incomplete applications will be disqualified.
The Commission reassured Nigerians that this recruitment is a critical step in tackling insecurity, improving policing efficiency, and expanding the NPF’s presence in all states and local government areas.
