Security operatives have carried out a major offensive in Niger State, eliminating over 40 armed militants during a coordinated raid on a notorious hideout in Borgu Local Government Area.
The breakthrough was revealed by security analyst Bakatsine, who shared details on 𝕏, describing the operation as one of the most decisive moves yet against insurgent activities in the region.
According to him, the raid targeted a camp in the Lakurawa axis, reportedly controlled by a militant commander known as Amir Tajuddeen. Troops stormed the location, engaged the fighters, and neutralised dozens during the fierce exchange.
“Security forces in Niger State conducted a major operation in the Lakurawa hideout camp under the leadership of Amir Tajuddeen in Borgu LGA. Over 40 armed militants were reportedly killed during the raid,”

Fresh Tragedy in Taraba: 17 IDPs Killed in Dawn Attack
While Niger State recorded a big win against armed groups, residents in Taraba State suffered a devastating blow.
At least 17 returning IDPs were killed when suspected bandits invaded Tse Ajogo village in Wukari LGA around 6 a.m., firing shots indiscriminately.
Survivors said the attackers burned seven houses, injured eight persons, and left several villagers missing.
One survivor, Bernard Atom Atoo Tyokongu, described the attack as sudden and ruthless.
“They stormed the village and started shooting at anyone in sight. Seventeen of our returning IDPs are dead. People are missing, and the injured are being prepared for the hospital,” he said.
