Afrobeats superstar Davido has stirred social media after hinting that the Adeleke family may simply return to their thriving business empire if Governor Ademola Adeleke fails to secure re-election in Osun State.
The conversation erupted on 𝕏 after users debated Governor Adeleke’s political future, especially following his recent move to the Accord Party ahead of the 2026 governorship race.
A political commentator, Mr Lurvy, sparked the discussion by mocking the drama surrounding Adeleke’s attempt to join the APC, saying the situation was “one for the history books.” Another user, Whemimor, jokingly suggested that Davido might “write campaign songs for APC” if the governor loses.
Davido, however, shut down the banter with a bold reminder of his family’s wealth, responding:
“Or we can just go back to our multi-billion dollar company…”
His comment instantly trended, with many interpreting it as confidence that the Adeleke family is financially secure — win or lose.
Meanwhile, Governor Ademola Adeleke recently clinched the Accord Party governorship ticket after scoring 145 votes in the party’s primary. Announcing the result, Abdulazeez Salaudeen, Secretary of the Electoral Committee, confirmed that five ballots were voided before declaring Adeleke winner of the exercise, which was monitored by INEC officials.
Adeleke will now face a tough 2026 contest as political tension continues to build in Osun.
